Ego-Boost is a top-down shooter that I helped create for the video game development event, Global Game Jam. It featured an incredibly arrogant man who slipped into the sub-conscience of his mind and is forced to endlessly fight copies of himself using insane abilities.
Within this project, I was one of three artists; however, I was given the task of creating the aesthetic vision of the game. Aside from this, I focused on designing the main character. In doing so, I conceptualized the character, drew the animated sprites, and created the sprites for his abilities. As the artist in charge of aesthetics, I also helped the other artists create assets that would meld together in a visually appealing way.
What I learned in this project: From this project, I learned how to manage a small group of individuals as they try to create a unified product, as well as character conceptualization.
