Romaji to Kana

Timeframe: August 2016

Project Position: UI Designer

In August of 2016, I was approached to create a user interface for a page on a web domain. The purpose of this page is to translate the Latin characters entered by the user into their Hiragana and Katakana equivalents. For this project, I was given free reign in aesthetics given that the page were to remain functional. As such, I chose to focus on two aspects of the design. I wanted the design to feel modern and I wanted the design to convey intelligence and calm.

What I learned from this project: With this project, I needed to learn the many different standardized sizes for different mobile devices so that I may effectively design for them.
