The Heap

Timeframe: September 2014 - May 2015

Project Position: 2D Artist

 

The Heap is a multi-genre game centered around the rejected video game character, LAARP, as he rises from the Heap and goes through different game genres in an attempt to be the next great video game mascot. Competing in four different games- a platformer, a Slender-like survival horror, a visual novel, and a shoot-em-up- LAARP is climbing to the top of the Heap and becoming one of the greats.

 

Within the project, I was one of two artists, but in all reality, unfortunately, I concpetualized and created most of the visuals in the game, while also creating an artistic direction for each game genre.

 

What I learned from this project: In this project, I have learned how to animate sprites using both the animator tool and sprite sheets in Unity 2D, as well as how much time it takes to develop a polished product.
