Olympus

Timeframe: November 2013 - December 2013

Project Position: Narrative Designer

 

Olympus is a mobile tower-defense game that I helped create for Dakota State University’s Classical Myth and Media class.

 

With this project, I first delved into narrative design. I created the backstory of the game, that of creating a new end of the world myth for Greek mythology, in which you are a mage that has been given the powers of the gods to defend Mt. Olympus as they fight among the four corners of the earth. I also created the names for the four abilities used within the game.
 

What I learned from this project: In this project, I learned a lot about taking a source material, in this case Greek mythology, and adapting it to serve a project’s needs.
