Fimbulwinter

Timeframe: August 2015 - May 2016

Project Position: Artist

 

Fimbulwinter is a survival-strategy game inspired by the Norse mythological event of the same name. Within it, the player controls the leader of a group of survivors as they attempt to live through the nuclear winter. However, not everything is quite as it seems within the world. The neopagans may be right.

 

Within this project, I was one of two artists. For this project, I constructed all 3D models that were implemented into the game, as well as the textures that were placed on these models. I also developed the art style that was used for the game, a combination between pencil sketching and painting.

 

What I learned from this project: For this project, I first used Maya. As such, I needed to relearn 3D modelling within this software. Additionally, I learned the process of UV mapping for 3D models.
